Bellevue College women’s basketball bounced back from a tough home loss Thursday tonight as Amanda Luckett’s 27 point and 10 rebound night led the Bulldogs to a 77-58 win tonight. Luckett, who was Bellevue’s mainstay in the Thursday loss, was efficient in every aspect, draining 13-of-18 from the floor. Freshman Juanita Johnson had a breakout game, right behind Luckett netting 15 points and six rebounds.

Luckett established the control on Bellevue’s end from the beginning, as the freshman was 3-of-4 from the field for seven points in the first quarter as Bellevue built an early 15-9 lead. Luckett then continued the domination underneath with a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in the second quarter as Bellevue headed into the locker room with a 35-24 lead.

In the third quarter, Shoreline fought back early cutting the deficit to less than 10 before Bellevue went on an 11-0 run with just over two minutes left in the quarter, putting Bellevue up by a commanding 24-point lead at 61-37 on a layup by Johnson.

The win puts Bellevue as 6-3 and back in a tie for first place. Bellevue brings in Edmonds this Wednesday February 20 for a 5:00 tipoff at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion.
