The Bellevue College Bulldogs softball team improved their record to 4-2 after sweeping Green River in a non-league doubleheader at the BC softball complex at the Bellevue home opener Thursday, March 8.
The Bulldogs won by scores of 14-0 and 14-6. In game one, sophomore Danielle Orvella picked up the win and in game two freshman pitcher Emilly Cunningham earned the victory. Danielle Jackman threw three scoreless innings in the two games to help in the pitching efforts.
Offensively, the Bulldogs pounded out 28 runs and hit eight homeruns. Contributing long-balls in the two games were Jackman (two homeruns, including the walk-off homerun in game two), Lindsey West (x2), Natasha Kiesel, Shelby Poole, Jessica Tingley, and Larissa Johnson.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to play in Vancouver this coming weekend, March 17-18, and then return home for a rescheduled doubleheader against Highline CC on Wednesday, March 21.
