Bellevue Drops League Opener Series to Edmonds

On Friday March 29, Bellevue jumped out to a 3-0 lead but could not hold on, losing in the bottom of the final inning to Edmonds 4-3. Max Brown went 3-for-3 and scored 2 runs. With two outs and the bases loaded, Bellevue was one strike away from victory before Edmonds’ top hitter, T.C. Florentine, hit an 0-2 single up the middle to score both the tying and winning runs. In game two, Bellevue’s Jake Reppert struck out 14 through eight innings of work but came out with a no-decision as Bellevue lost a final inning lead again after maintaining a 1-0 lead through eight innings. A passed ball allowed Edmonds to score the tying run in the ninth, sending the game to extra innings. Bellevue would not let a second game slip away, as they squeaked one run across in the top of the tenth as Nick Pribble benefitted from three Edmonds miscues to score the winning run.

On Saturday March 30, Bellevue was swept in their home opener by Edmonds by scores of 7-0 and 13-2. Brown continued his hot hitting from the previous night with three hits on the day and is now hitting .408. He and fellow sophomore outfielder Jordan Richartz are both in the top ten in NWAACC hitting (Richartz #1, Brown #9 overall). The Bulldogs host Green River CC on Wednesday April 3 in a 3PM mid-week non-league contest. It is Bellevue’s first mid-week game at home in over five years.
