The Bulldogs softball team swept doubleheaders at Edmonds and Skagit and split with Douglas over the last week of April. On Tuesday, April 30, the Bulldog softball team beat Edmonds by scores of 17-3 and 15-3. Brielle Bray and Hannah Sauget each picked up a win and Lauren Burchak hit two home runs, while Larissa Johnson added a HR to lead the team offensively.
On Friday, May 3, the Bulldogs travelled to Skagit where they picked up two more league wins by scores of 7-2 and
10-4. On the mound, Bray and Sauget each picked up another win, while Autumn Isaacson led the way offensively going 5-10 with three RBI’s and three stolen bases.
Then, on Saturday, May 4, Bellevue wrapped up the road series by splitting games with North Region second-place Douglas College in Canada. The Dawgs lost the first game 5-1 to end their three-year North Region winning streak. The last loss Bellevue softball had was three years ago to the day. The team rebounded quickly though, dominating game two, to win by a score of 15-2. In the second game, the Dawgs pounded out 19 hits, led by home runs from Burchak and Brittany Jacobsen and Miranda Granger (3-5, three stolen bases, RBI), Johnson (3-4, three RBI’s), Sauget (2-3, RBI) and Jordyn Lallas (2-3).
Bulldogs softball wraps up the regular season this week with one road trip to Olympic College in Bremerton on Tuesday, May 7, with games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., then host the regular season finale on Saturday, May 11, at home vs. Shoreline at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
