The Bellevue Bulldogs volleyball team, now 9-3 on the season, hosted their opening home games Monday night, Sept. 10, against the Tacoma Titans and the Wenatchee Valley Knights. The Bulldogs took on the Titans in the first match of the night, winning in three: 25-13, 25-19 and 25-12. Outside hitter Laura Friar led the Bulldogs with 13 kills, followed by middle blocker Darian Foley with eight kills, and outside hitter Kylai Cooley with six. Libero Madison Agnew had five aces and 12 digs for the Bulldogs. Leading the Bulldog defense was Foley with three blocks, followed by Friar with two. Bulldog setter Krista Groves had 33 assists in the match.
The Bulldogs then faced the Wenatchee Valley Knights winning in three 26-16, 25-23 and 25-22. Friar led the Bulldogs with 13 kills, Cooley had six, and Foley five. The Bulldog defense was led by middle blocker Emina Dodic with three blocks, followed by Friar and right side Samantha Minnig with two each. Groves had 27 assists in the match.
The Bulldogs are in action this weekend, Sept. 14-15, at the Spokane Crossover Tournament. Check out the NWAACC website for more information on the tournament.
