
The Bellevue Bulldogs volleyball team, who finished their regular season 11-1 in the North Region and 27-9 overall, received several All-League honors in the North Region.
Bulldog sophomore outside hitter Laura Friar received the highest award given, being named the MVP of the North for the 2012 season. Friar leads the NWAACC in kills with 282 kills in 55 games, averaging 5.13 kills/game. Friar also had 25 aces on the season, seven solo blocks with 18 assisted blocks and 201 total digs. Friar was North Region Offensive Player of the Week for weeks 2, 3 and 9, and was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Highline preseason tournament, Spokane Crossover and Shoreline Crossover.
Bulldog sophomore setter Krista Groves was named first team All-League.
Groves is third in assists in the NWAACC with 594 assists in 59 games, averaging 10.07 assists per game. Groves was also an offensive threat for the Bulldogs with 36 kills on the season and helped lead the Bulldog defense with 19 aces and 68 total digs. Groves was North Region Setter of the Week for weeks 2, 4, 5 and 10, and was named All-NWAACC Setter of the Week for weeks 4 and 8.
Bulldog sophomore Libero Madison Agnew was named first team All-League. Agnew led the Bulldog defense and is ranked 8th in the NWAACC with 305 digs in 59 games, averaging 5.17 digs per game. Agnew is also ranked 19th in the NWAACC with 28 aces, had 21 assists on the season and had a serve-receive percentage of a 2.10 on a scale of 3.0. Agnew was named North Region Defensive Player of the Week for weeks 2, 3, 5, 6 and 10, and was named All NWAACC Defensive Player of the Week for weeks 2 and 10.
Bulldog freshman outside hitter Kylai Cooley was named second team All-League. Cooley is ranked 13th in the NWAACC for kills with 189 in 59 games, averaging 3.12 kills per game. Cooley also had 21 aces on the season, 3 solo blocks with 11 assisted blocks and 130 total digs. Cooley was named North Region Defensive Player of the Week for week 9 and was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Highline preseason tournament and the Spokane Crossover.
All the Bulldog sophomores, Friar, Groves, Agnew, right side Samantha Minnig and middle blocker Emina Dodic, will be featured in the NWAACC Sophomore All-Star game for the North that will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18, immediately following the NWAACC Championship Tournament at Mount Hood CC in Gresham, Oregon.
