Anthony Flatt’s bases loaded 3 RBI double along with Ryan Malone’s 3-for-3 performance lifted Bellevue to an 8-1 win on Saturday April 13. After an hour and a half rain delay, game two started but was halted after two innings with Bellevue up 4-0. The game was continued the following day at Shoreline’s home field, Meridian Park. As play resumed, the Bulldogs tacked on runs in every inning as they went on to win 12-2. Aaron Sandefur scattered only two hits on the mound for Bellevue and earned the win as Sheldon Stober and Trai Patrick each had three hits.
Following the continuation of the halted game from Saturday, the regularly scheduled doubleheader then began as part of a ‘tripleheader’ for the day. Unfortunately, Bellevue’s bats were silenced for the remaining two games as Shoreline swept the doubleheader 5-1 and 4-3 in extra innings. Nick Pribble had two hits in the first game. In game two, Bellevue jumped ahead 3-0 and held on to the lead into the eighth inning before a bloop hit turned into a leadoff double for Shoreline which eventually became the tying run to force extra innings. Shoreline won in the bottom of the tenth after a leadoff walk, stolen base, and base hit with nobody out. Bellevue’s Max Brown had three hits to lead Bellevue. The Bulldogs had three of their five hits in the first inning and only managed two hits from innings two through ten in the loss. Up next, Bellevue takes on league-leading Everett in a four-game series. Bellevue travels to play at Everett Memorial Stadium on Saturday April 20 before hosting the Trojans on Sunday April 21. Both doubleheaders are scheduled for a 1PM start.
