Bellevue 2011 NWAACC Champion Alums Shine in World Baseball Challenge Opener

Former Bulldogs Tyler Baumgartner, Cory Urquhart, and Scott Kuzminsky all had stellar games in the opening game of the 2013 World Baseball Challenge in Prince George BC representing the United States. Baumgartner had two hits and scored three runs in the opening game over Team Canada in front of over 1,200 fans at the international event featuring the national team from Chinese Taipei, and squads from Cuba, Japan, and Canada. The United States team features former and some current NWAACC players. Urquhart entered at shortstop in the middle of the game and promptly doubled to right center in his first at bat since his collegiate career ended in May at Cumberland University. Pitcher Scott Kuzminsky fanned two in his one inning of shutout relief work to seal the 13-6 win over Team Canada.
