Bellevue College women’s golf had the lowest team score on day two, but fell just short of the title, falling to Columbia Basin by eight strokes at the NWAC League Match hosted by Skagit Valley. The two-day tourney held at Avalon Golf Course in Burlington, WA had a seven team field with Bellevue shooting seven strokes better than the Hawks on day two, but the 15 stroke deficit after day one was too much to overcome for Bellevue.

The rough start on day one made it difficult for Bellevue’s number one seed, Jaclyn Yoo, to make up ground. After carding an opening round 87, Yoo bounced back with the best round in the field on day two shooting 79 to finish eight strokes behind medalist Jayda Thomas of Centralia. Yoo got off to a solid start with a one over 37 on the front nine. After losing some momentum after the turn, Yoo was able to birdie the par three 16th to salvage her sub-80 round.

Kate Sabarillo finished tied for eighth overall shooting 93-88 while Bella Jones carded rounds of 94-93 to finish 12th to round out Bellevue’s scoring.

The Bulldogs sit in second place in the NWAC standings behind Columbia Basin and will travel to Chehalis next weekend for another NWAC League Match Sun. Apr. 27-Mon. Apr. 28 at Riverside Golf Course.
