‘Dogs Come From Behind For Big Win

Bellevue College men’s basketball came from behind in nip and tuck game with visiting Shoreline, ultimately winning 71-68. Sawyer Cottrell scored 14 of his game-high 24 points in the second hlaf and was four for six from three-point range to lead the Bulldogs.

After a three-pointer from Bellevue’s Cooper Brown with 3:26 to go that put the Bulldogs back on top at 60-58, Cottrell nailed two key three-pointers to give BC a 66-59 cushion with 1:48 remaining. Brown would make two free throws with 35 seconds to go as the Bulldogs would go on to win.

Brown and Cottrell’s long range shooting led the ‘dogs 58% shooting from three-point land in the second half in one of Bellevue’s best displays from behind the perimeter all year. Daniel Kabamba was perfect six-for-six and led the team with eight rebounds.

Bellevue is now on a five game win streak and have crept up the standings all season long into second place at 9-3. They travel to Edmonds this Sat. Feb. 22 for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
