Bellevue College volleyball lost on the road in their regular season finale 3-1 at Edmonds. The Tritons took the first two sets (25-20, 25-21) before the Bulldogs rolled in set three (25-16) but then lost all momentum in a runaway Triton fourth set (25-14).

Although the Bulldogs did not commit excessive errors on offense, Edmonds played tougher defense in back row as the Tritons dug 85 Bulldog shots. BC’s Jessi Mahler, playing in her final regular season match, got off an astronomical 50 swings but managed only 14 kills as the Tritons denied BC’s top offensive threat any opportunity to generate momentum.

Bellevue’s offense was picked up by Gillian Merhoff who had 10 kills and hit .250 while Mya Hejl swung at .375 with seven kills and only one error.

After Bellevue got things going in set three with the easy win, the offense labored in set four, committing 11 errors which allowed Edmonds to run away with the final set and match.

Although saddled with the loss, the Bulldogs were locked in for second place in the North Region and are 9-3 / 24-7 as they head to the Tri-Cities for the NWAC Championship Regionals hosted by Columbia Basin College. The Bulldogs open up tourney play against Lower Columbia on Sat. Nov. 16 at 10 a.m.
