Women’s Soccer Wins 2-0

BC soccer player

Bellevue College women’s soccer used stellar defense in a 2-0 shutout over host Everett. The Bulldogs went the entire 90 minutes without allowing a shot on goal as BC outshot the Trojans 13-2.

Laraine Sims recorded the shutout in the box having to do little work as the defense, led by the front of Karly Ellis, Madeline Long, and Isabela Marquardt prevented any threat against Sims and the ‘dogs.

Bellevue had opportunities in the first half as Natalie Jas, Haley Swanson, Ellis, Sarai Perdomo, and Macie Masterson all had shots but could not capitalize in a game dominated by Bellevue in the first half.

Just minutes into the second half, Perdomo finally found good fortune off a feed from Brooke Reiber to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. Reiber would then find the back of the net for BC’s second goal at 82:32.

Bellevue is now 7-1-1 in league and 8-2-1 overall. The ‘dogs host league leader Peninsula on Wed. Oct. 30 at 4:15 p.m. The final regular season home game is also Sophomore Day, as the team’s sophomores will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony.
