The Bellevue Bulldogs won five of six singles brackets and two of three doubles brackets to cruise to their sixth straight NWAC Men’s Championship title with 138 points on Sunday at the Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club.
The title is the third in a row for head coach Micah Perron since taking over the program. Perron was named the NWAC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year. The Bulldogs have won each title since 2017 as they recorded their 12th title all-time.
Bellevue’s Jackson Stumpf was named the Baden Men’s Tennis Player of the Year as he swept the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles titles with teammate Tyler Gettmann. Stumpf, who won his first match on Saturday 6-3, 6-1 over Treasure Valley’s Kaden Giles, did not drop a set on Sunday in his win over Spokane’s Christian Torres.
Gettmann won the No. 2 singles for the Bulldogs convincingly with both wins coming on Saturday. Gettmann was also the recipient of the Wally Heidenson Sportsmanship Award. Colby Weller defeated TVCC’s Jordan Groat in one of the best matches of the day (6-2, 2-6, 6-4) to win the No. 3 singles title. Anthony Madson was the No. 5 singles champion with both wins coming on Saturday. Finn Andersson closed out the No. 6 singles with a 7-6, 6-0 win over Koda Alvarez of TVCC.
In doubles, Stumpf and Gettman were perfect together, winning both matches by 8-0 scores. Weller and Cole Fredericks won the No. 2 doubles title with both wins coming on Saturday to close out Bellevue’s first place points. The Bulldogs earned second place points in both the No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles.
