Bellevue College men’s basketball fell to Shoreline 69-56 at Courter Family Pavilion. After hanging with the Dolphins down 36-33 at halftime, BC could not answer back as Shoreline’s offense held just enough steam to cruise to the victory.

The ‘dogs struggled offensively in the second half scoring just 23 points in one of their lowest outputs in a half all season. Bellevue threw up 25 three pointers but cashed in on only five and shot 45% from the line. Bellevue did not help their cause with 15 fouls in comparison to the eight by Shoreline. The Dolphins capitalized with 11-of-12 free throw shooting for 92%.

Bellevue’s chances were diminished at the eight minute mark, down just 50-45 following a pair of free throws from Logan Stempniak. But Shoreline went on a 15-5 run to prevent any further comeback by the Bulldogs.

Stempniak finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Bellevue (2-3 / 13-7) will travel to Edmonds this Sat. Jan. 27 for a 4 p.m. tipoff.
