Bellevue College men’s basketball held off a last second threat to win a thrilling one-point victory over Whatcom at Courter Family Pavilion 70-69. Clutch shooting by Marcus Cole and Josiah Johnson in the final minute highlighted the thrilling end. Cole’s three pointer put BC up 68-66 with a minute to go before Whatcom answered with a three ball of their own. After burning 20 seconds off the clock, with :18 to go Johnson nailed a jump shot to give BC the one point lead at 70-69. Whatcom had one final chance but Bellevue’s pressure defense forced the Orcas to throw up a three-pointer which missed to preserve the win.

Cole, Johnson, and Logan Stempniak led a balanced attack with 14, 15, and 15 points respectively. Johnson also led the team with four assists while Stempniak yanked down eight rebounds.
