Bulldogs Top Walla Walla

BC men's basketball player

Bellevue College men’s basketball won their second consecutive game of this weekend’s three-game stretch with an 89-79 win over Walla Walla. The Bulldogs topped the same Warrior squad last week in Walla Walla, with tonight’s game yielding a similar result.

Josiah Johnson, who has been one of Bellevue’s top impact freshman of the young ’23-24 campaign, led BC with 33 points. He was electric all night on 12-of-18 shooting including four-for-five from three point range. Johnson found his groove in the second half on seven-for-eight from the field for 21 points.

The game remained close in the first half with Walla Walla within striking distance, down on 41-39 with seconds to go before intermission.

The game remained nip and tuck through most of the second half before Johnson’s three ball coupled with a pair of free throws from Logan Stempniak put Bellevue up by 11 at 80-69 with a little over five minutes to play. From there the ‘dogs cruised without any further threat from the Warriors. Stempniak added 24 for BC and had 12 rebounds.

Bellevue, now 7-1 on the year, will close out the three games tomorrow against Highline. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
