Bulldogs Women’s Basketball Drop Two

Bellevue College women’s basketball lost two games at the Clackamas Thanksgiving Invitational, falling 80-45 to host Clackamas and 84-77 to SW Oregon.

The Bulldogs came out ice cold for a second night in a row against Clackamas, falling behind 22-6 in the first quarter. The second quarter aided to the lopsided loss as Clackamas held a convincing 47-22 lead at intermission. Jordyn Smith had seven rebounds and seven points for BC.

In Sunday’s SW Oregon loss, the ‘dogs reversed their trend of slow starts by racing out 28-17 in the first quarter. The balanced attack was fueled by aggressiveness down under with 13 rebounds as Smith, Paige Hampton, Jadyn Mueller, and McKenna Morris combined for 25 of the 28 points.

The middle quarters were lost though as SW Oregon poured in 26 and 22 points in the second and third quarters respectively to take the lead.

Mueller led Bellevue with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs will travel to Peninsula this weekend for a Friday Nov. 1 matchup vs. Lower Columbia at the Pirate Classic in Port Angeles. Tipoff for the Friday game is set for 2 p.m.
