Baseball Drops Four

Baseball vs Tacoma

Bellevue College baseball lost all four games over the weekend to Tacoma, falling 3-0 and 9-8 on Saturday before losing 11-1 and 4-3 on Sunday. Untimely hitting, errors, and streaky pitching kept Bellevue on the losing end all weekend.

In the 3-0 loss, Cam Hoiland threw a two-hitter through five innings but was victimized by four errors in the field and was saddled with the loss. The ‘dogs had runners in scoring position but struck out with two outs four innings in a row from the fifth through eighth innings. In the Saturday nightcap, Bellevue fought back from a 7-2 deficit but gave up two more in the seventh on an errant throw on a Tacoma steal attempt, giving TCC the pivotal runs to eventually win the game. BC tied Tacoma with 11 hits as Rylen Bayne went three-for-four with a double and a triple.

In game four, Ryan Lynch gave BC a second dominating start over the weekend following Hoiland’s act on Saturday. The sophomore right-hander fanned six and didn’t walk a batter through five innings of work. Unfortunately Bellevue could not hold onto a 3-1 lead as a two-out walk allowed Tacoma’s Noah Fields to deliver the big two-RBI double to seal the win.

Bellevue (4-8) will take on Pierce College this upcoming weekend. With rain in the forecast, schedule adjustments are anticipated. Updates will be posted on the website schedule.
