Bulldog Women Win In Overtime

Bellevue College women’s basketball topped host Edmonds 80-72 in overtime as the combo of Sav Huerta and Gwen Aasland provided explosive offense and rebounds underneath to give the Bulldogs the edge in an early battle of two of the top teams in the NWAC North Region.

BC was on fire outscoring Edmonds 26-15 in the third quarter before Huerta got Bellevue within two with a three-pointer which was followed by an Aasland bucket to tie the game. Aasland then drained two free throws to put BC up 68-62 with 1:46 remaining. With a win on the horizon, Edmonds would then rally for a 9-1 advantage in the closing minute to put the game into overtime.
