Men’s Basketball Rally Falls Short

Bellevue College men’s basketball lost their league opener 76-70 to Peninsula. The Bulldogs fell behind by as many as 12 points in the second half and rallied to within three but could not get any closer.

Peninsula’s edge came early in the first half as they jumped out to a 33-27 lead with offensive control, getting of nearly twice as many shots as the Bulldogs (39-23 margin). Both teams got the hot hand in the second half as the Pirates and Bulldogs raised their shooting clip to 50%.

Bishop Tosi led the Bulldog charge with 21 of his game-high 28 points in the second half. Tosi also was the aggressor underneath leading BC with 13 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Aydan Janssan was seven-for-11 from the field and chipped in 14 points.

Bellevue’s nine-game win streak was snapped as they fall to 0-1 in league play and 10-5 overall. They travel to Edmonds this Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tipoff.
