Bulldogs Offense Rolls Over Pierce

Bellevue College men’s basketball topped visiting Pierce 104-88 as the Bulldogs topped the 50-point mark in both halves in an offensive slug out. After a commanding 50-33 halftime lead was set by BC, Bellevue stretched the lead out by over 20 on several occasions before Pierce would make minor comeback threats whittling the lead down to 13 but could not continue any momentum as Bellevue’s freshmen sensation duo of Prophet Johnson and Owen Moriarty poured in 61 of BC’s 104 points.

Johnson, who returned to the lineup after sitting out several games due to an injury, looked like he never missed any action, returning in fine form on 12-for-20 shooting including six-for-11 from three-point range ending with a 33-point return. Moriarty was eight-for-16 and was 10-for-12 from the line for 28 points and also had eight rebounds.

Bellevue was at the free throw line 38 times but could only hit 55%. The squad made up for it by throwing up 34 three-pointers and cashing in on 38%.

Bellevue is 8-4 and are now riding a seven-game win streak. They travel to Highline this Friday for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
