Bellevue College women’s basketball rallied back from a seven point fourth quarter deficit but fell short by a point in a 55-54 loss at home to Everett at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. A cold shooting second quarter in which the Bulldogs were outscored 17-8 put the squad in a hole they nearly got out of in the final quarter.
Rokki Brown was 2-for-3 from three-point range in the fourth as tied the game at 48 with plenty of time left at the 6:58 mark on a steal and bucket by Addy Clabby. Clabby’s defense was a key factor as the sophomore guard had three straight steals during BC’s run to get back in it.
With :09 left in the game Brown drained her second three-pointer to put Bellevue up 54-53. A foul with three seconds left in the game put Everett’s Sydney Vanness to the line and she promptly made both to seal the thrilling win. Brown’s 17 points led the team as she made 5-of-10 from three-point land.
The loss snapped a nine game winning streak for Bellevue as the Bulldogs still remain in first place at 9-2. The team travels to Peninsula tomorrow night for a 7:00 tipoff.
