Bellevue College men’s basketball fell 96-88 last night at Everett as the Bulldogs had their two game win streak snapped. BC played their typical game but simply fell victim to a hot shooting Everett club that was on fire all night. The Trojans put up 53 points in the first half as Bellevue shot 55% from the field but were overmatched by a scorching 58% clip by Everett.
Down by only six at halftime 53-47, the second half was a slight cooldown for both teams but Everett still managed to stay consistent enough offensively and cashed in on 14 free throw points while BC was an ice cold 8-for-20 from the line.
Bellevue actually took the lead on a few occasions in the second half early on but could not pull away and let Everett regain momentum twice before a Kai Warren layup with 6:02 to go brought Bellevue back within two, 78-76. The Trojans then ran off six straight points to widen the gap for the remainder of the game.
Bellevue had a balanced scoring attack as O’Landa Baker had 20 points while Jett Briceno had 19 and Warren with 18. BC is now 6-3 and travels to Whatcom this Saturday May 8 for a 6:00 tipoff in Bellingham.
