Men’s Basketball Tops Edmonds In Overtime

Bellevue College men’s basketball came back from a 12-point deficit at halftime to overtake Edmonds on road in overtime 91-89. Terrell Peter had a big night for the Bulldogs, scoring 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals all after coming off the bench. Peter drained 10-of-15 from the field and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. He was also instrumental in the comeback second half with 7 rebounds.

After shooting only 30% from the field in the first half, including a rough 2-for-15 from three-point range, the ‘dogs improved to 42% in the second half in which the squad threw in 46 points. The Bulldogs were down by 20 points 57-37 with 14:00 to play before staging the comeback. Peter scored 5 points in a 30 second stretch to get Bellevue back to 59-55 before Kai Warren tied the game then put BC up 63-61 with a little over 5:00 to play. After a pair of free throws gave Edmonds a two point lead at 77-75 with :06 left, O’Landa Baker tied the game at the buzzer to send it into overtime.

Another newcomer, Nate Johnson scored 5 points in overtime and made the final point for BC to seal the win.

Bellevue is now 6-2 and travels to Everett Wednesday May 5 for a 7:00 tipoff.
