
Freshman Jaeger Christian was the sole golfer in the entire 31-man field to shoot under par, firing a 1-under 71 on day two of the Highline Invitational to take home medalist honors and help the team win by a 27-stroke margin. Christian, who shot 74 on day one on Sunday was sitting in third place overall behind teammate Dallon Bennett, the leader after day one. Trading off birdies and bogeys for four straight holes on the front nine, shooting an even par 36, Christian birdied the par-5 tenth hole then delivered eight straight pars for the 1-under round.
Bennett fired a second day round of 76 to finish second overall in the individual standings for a two-day total of 148. Teammates Tyler Spalti (77-73) and Ryan Knox (75-77) finished third and fifth respectively overall to round out BC’s scoring.
The win was Bellevue’s record-pacing sixth consecutive tourney title this year as the ‘dogs have not lost a match all season dating back to last March of 2020.
Bellevue’s next tourney is the Skagit Invitational next Monday and Tuesday May 3-4 at Avalon Golf Links in Burlington.
