Bellevue College women’s basketball lost to Skagit Valley College 56-42 last night at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion in a game that was an early showdown between two of the top teams in the North Region. Bellevue’s cold shooting in the first quarter which yielded only 5 total points set the tone for the rest of the night, as BC shot only 31% from the field, and 36% from the free throw line where they were only 5-for-14. Bellevue was outscored in every quarter as Skagit gently pulled away for the win.
Sophomore Erin Hamilton led the Bulldogs with 11 points. She also had 5 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, and 2 steals in an overall solid performance.
Bellevue is now 1-1 in league (9-6 overall) and host Everett this Wednesday January 18 at 5:00 p.m.
