In a game which showed the hot Bellevue team that was evident early in the pre-season, the Bellevue College men’s basketball team won on the road convincingly at Edmonds 84-65 last night. Much like they did early in pre-season, Bellevue was carried by hot shooting on the perimeter by their guard play as the team sank 50% (6 of 12) from three-point territory.
Jaden Vollmen, a freshman from Puyallup, was lights out with 5-for-6 shooting from three-point territory and led the ‘dogs with 26 points. Trey Nelson had 19 points and Jordan Muir-Keung chipped in 13 and led the team with 9 rebounds.
The win was big in several ways, as the Bulldogs snapped a cold streak that included a 1-4 record and was suffering from cold shooting, won their league opener, and beat a traditional rival on the road at Edmonds.
Bellevue is 1-0 in league and 11-5 overall. The Bulldogs host Skagit Valley in their league home opener this Saturday January 14 at 6:00 p.m.
