
Bellevue College men’s basketball continued their stretch of rapid improvement with another come-from-behind win; it was their second in two nights, as the Bulldogs defeated host Highline College 69-62 in overtime last night.
Freshman Yonathan Michael continued his stretch of hot shooting by scoring 29 points. He was 8-for-14 from the field and cashed in on his free throw opportunities by sinking 9-of-11.
After trailing by five at halftime 30-25, Bellevue stuck with it’s recipe for success from the previous night by improving their shooting percentage in the second half. The ‘dogs shot 55% in the second half as compared to the Thunderbirds’ 27%. After tying the game up in the second half to send it to OT, Bellevue continued the hot shooting by outracing the T-Birds 16-9 in the extra period.
Jack Walton had 14 points on 7-for-10 shooting while Calvin Dennis added 10 points and led BC with 10 rebounds as well.
The Bulldogs are now 9-6 and are on a three-game win streak at the right time as league play begins this week. Bellevue travels to Shoreline to open up North Region play with a 4:00 p.m. game this Saturday January 9.
