The Bulldogs women’s basketball team increased their win streak to five games this past week by beating Shoreline CC and Everett CC on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively. The Bellevue College women are now 3-0 in league and 10-6 overall.
Bellevue has relied on a balanced attack to continue their winning ways. The Bulldogs hosted Shoreline on Wednesday, January 8, and won by a score of 79 to 58. The Bulldogs built an early lead and never looked back, going up by 19 points in the first half. Bellevue out-rebounded Shoreline 62-33, including 31 offensive rebounds. The Bulldogs were led by four players scoring in double figures: Airashay Rogers led with a team-high with 14 points; sophomore Jori Hall recorded yet another double-double scoring 10 points with 13 rebounds, including seven offensive; Tayler Flemming added 10 points; and Hunter Hopkins contributed 11 for the Bulldogs. Saturday, the Bulldogs took on North Region rival Everett Community College, and defeated the visiting Trojans 68-61. However, the Trojans would not give up and brought the game back up to within five points with only three minutes left on the clock. Bellevue was able to secure the victory with key stops in those final moments.
Once again the Bulldogs were led by a balanced attack which has become the storyline to their recent winning streak.
