Women’s Basketball Takes 5th at Bulldog Classic

The BC women’s basketball team took fifth place at the Bulldog Classic which Bellevue College hosted over the weekend of December 6-8. Bellevue lost Highline by a score of 69-49 for the 3rd Place-5th Place game. Jori Hall was the lone Bellevue player named to the All-Tournament Team. On Friday, the Bulldogs opened up with a win with an 84-47 victory over Green River. Bellevue outrebounded the Gators 47-21 as Kaitlynn Bunger led the scoring attack with 19 points and also led the team with 4 assists. On Saturday Bellevue was topped by Umpqua CC 80-71 in overtime. Bellevue shot only 54% from the foul line (and was only 53% in the win on Friday).  The Bulldogs had a comfortable 13 point lead after halftime but let it get away in the second half, then lost all momentum, getting outscored 16-7 in overtime. Tayler Flemming had 17 points while Hall chipped in 16. The Bulldogs host the Washington Athletic Club on December 12 for a 6:00 PM game.
