Bellevue Tops Green River in Mid-Week Clash

Freshman Ryan Malone had two hits and had his first college home run to propel Bellevue to a 4-2 win over Green River. The mid-week special was Bellevue’s first weekday non-league game in five years. The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with two quick hits in the first by Traishawn Patrick and Max Brown. Brown ended up with three hits on the day and raised his average to .434. He and teammate Jordan Richartz are now two of the top three hitters in the entire NWAACC.Brandon Mahovlich scattered only three hits, struck out six and did not give up an earned run in five innings of work on the mound. After giving up the lead and falling into a 2-2 tie, the Bulldogs answered back with consecutive hits to right-center by Spencer Manjarrez (triple) and Nick Pribble (double). Brown would then drive in Pribble with a single to add an insurance run. Bellevue hosts Douglas College this Saturday April 6 at 1PM.
