The Bellevue College men’s soccer team traveled across the state to face the Spokane Sasquatch in search of the elusive first league win on Saturday, Oct. 13, but came away disappointed. Spokane came charging out in the 2nd minute to score their first goal in what would turn out to be a 3-0 win over the Bulldogs. However, Bellevue’s defense held strong throughout the remainder of most of the first half, not allowing another Spokane goal until the 40th minute, with the Sasquatch holding the lead at half time, 2-0.
In the second half, the Bulldogs returned to defense mode, but were unable to find the back of the net themselves. Spokane zipped in the final score in the 89th minute, handing the Bulldogs a 3-0 loss.
Next up, the Bulldog men host the 2011 NWAACC Champion Peninsula Pirates who stand unbeaten in the league so far at 8-0-0. The teams meet Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, for a 3:15 p.m. start time.
