Bulldogs Men’s Soccer Suffer in Final Minutes

The BC men’s soccer team opened divisional play on Wednesday Oct. 5 hosting Olympic. Early on, the Bulldogs took the lead in the 15th minute when freshman midfielder Preston Hale scored to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. In a game providing several scoring opportunities, it looked as if Bellevue was going to be able to sneak away with the victory. With just ticks on the clock, Olympic took advantage of a scoring opportunity finding the back of the goal in the 90th and final minute of play. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.

On Saturday Oct. 8, the seventh-ranked Bulldogs traveled south to take on Tacoma. Bellevue was able to take the early lead again scoring in the 15th minute, this time from midfielder Do-Hee Kim. Just five minutes later, Hale scored his team leading sixth goal, putting the Bulldogs ahead 2-0. After the half, Tacoma took control. In the 55th minute, Scott Hanson got the Titans on the board making it 2-1. Then in the 80th minute, Angelo Plattner capitalized on a score assisted by Wyatt Plattner knotting up the score at 2-2. Two minutes later, Plattner again scored a goal assisted by Hanson to go ahead 3-2 which ended as the final score.

The Bulldogs fell to fourth Place in the west region with a league record of 3-1-3 and an overall record of 4-1-4. They will be back in action Saturday Oct. 15 as they travel to Des Moines to take on Highline.
