Bulldogs Men’s Soccer Set for West Division Clashes

On Wednesday Sept. 28 the fifth-ranked Bellevue College men’s soccer team traveled to play the eighth-ranked Tritons of Edmonds CC at Lynnwood HS. As expected, the match was very competitive, but in the 32nd minute of the game Edmonds was able to take the lead when Isaac Nilsen assisted Moris Vvatchovsky giving the Tritons the 1-0 lead. After the half the Bulldogs were able to knot up the score with a goal from Yahir Sandoval coming in the 55th minute. The score remained 1-1 and ended in a tie.

On Saturday Oct. 1, coming off the tie, the Bulldogs needed a win against North division opponent Shoreline at Bellevue. Bellevue took the lead early and never looked back. In the 15th minute, Bellevue’s Sandoval scored, giving the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead. From there, Preston Hale would take control of the game. Right before the half, Hale provided the team some insurance by finding the back of the net on a score assisted by Omar Gomez. Then in the 88th minute, Hale struck again for his second goal of the game assisted by Alexandru Morari. The Bulldogs looked sharp in the match and the game ended 3-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. Timothy Knoles recorded the shutout in goal.

The games move the Bulldogs into third place in the West Division at 3-0-2 in league play and 4-0-3 overall with a tough road ahead as divisional play begins at home this Wednesday, Oct. 5th against Olympic College.
