First Golf Outing Takes A Beating

The first tournament of the fall golf season, the NWAACC League Match scheduled for Sept. 26. and 27, at Ocean Shores ended up being called after the first day due to high winds and pelting rains on the second day. Following the first round, the Bellevue women held the lead, with a combined 249 to win the tournament. Sophomore Katya Case shot a 74, followed by Alayna Herring at 86, Tiffany Brunjes at 89,with freshmen Kayce Ogishima and Corey Rois posting scores of 92 and 97, respectively.

The Bellevue men finished the tournament in fourth place with a total of 311, only six shots out from Walla Walla, the winning team, at 305. Freshman Colton Kleis lead the way at 74, with sophomore Price Coshow carding 76, and Beau Forrest, 78. Zach Buchanan hit an 83, and Nathan Stephenson finished up with an 85.

Both teams next travel to Centralia for the invitational to be played Oct. 9 and 10.
