The Bellevue Bulldogs, now 5-3 on the season, hosted the Green River Gators and the Mt. Hood Saints Tuesday Sept. 6 at home in a three-team round-robin event. The Bulldogs took on the Green River in the first match of the night, winning in three 25-14, 25-12 and 26-24. Outside hitter Laura Friar led the Bulldogs with 14 kills followed by middle blocker Sammy Minnig with 5. Leading the Bulldog defense was Minnig with 5 blocks and outside hitter Lauren Zilke with 16 digs.
The Bulldogs then faced the Mt. Hood falling in four 17-25, 26-24, 12-25 and 22-25. Friar led the Bulldogs with a team and season high of 21 kills in the match. Libero Tiva Akau had 20 digs followed by setter Krista Groves with 10. Groves also had 36 assists in the match.
