Bulldogs Split With Skagit

Bellevue College baseball’s final inning rally fell short as Skagit Valley escaped with a 5-3 win over the Bulldogs in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader at Courter Field. Singles by Colin Hering, Zach Aaker, and Marc Dickerson plated two runs in the seventh inning before Kyle Conwell’s fly ball to center field ended the threat. Adrian Sampson took the loss; his first since his first collegiate start back on March 25. In game two, Bellevue jumped out 7-1 lead after two innings and cruised to a 14-3 win. Conwell, Aaker, and Tyler Cox each had two hits as Frank Tassara struck out six through six innings of work in his first start to earn the win.
