The Bulldog softball team continued their winning ways taking two games from Grays Harbor in a home doubleheader Friday, March 18. The Bulldogs won 16-1 and 8-0 in the two contests.
In game one, Breonna Chrisman picked up the win, surrendering one run on three hits. The Bulldog bats were potent as they pounded out 16 runs on 15 hits. Emily Guluarte, Natasha Kiesel, Nellie Root and Nicole Rogers each had doubles. Haylee Baker added a triple and Baker, Kristen Allen and Tobey Varney each hit home runs. It was the second game in a row that the three of them had homeruns in the same game.
In game two, Danielle Orvella threw a one-hit shutout over six innings. The Bulldogs started a little slow at the plate, scoring just two runs over the first four innings, but the bats came alive in the fifth and sixth innings as they scored six runs to end the game on the mercy rule. Leading the way offensively was Kristen Allen who had two doubles in the game, while Rachel Tingley added a single and a double.
The Bulldogs, now 4-0 on the season, start North Region play at Edmonds CC on Thursday, March 24, before traveling to Centralia for an Inter-Region Tournament March 26-27.
