Bellevue Softball Jumps Into Season

Bellevue College Bulldogs softball started their 2011 season with a bang taking two games from South Puget Sound Community College 10-0 and 16-3 o Tuesday, March 8. Breonna Chrisman threw a 5-hit shutout in game one and Haylee Baker led the offensive attack with a 3-run homerun in the first inning and 5 RBI’s for the game. In game number two, the bats stayed alive as the Bulldogs pounded out 16 runs on 14 hits. Nicole Rogers, Tobey Varney, Kristen Allen and Baker each hit home runs. On the mound, Danielle Orvella gave up just 3 runs on 3 hits to pick up the win.

The Bulldogs face Grays Harbor in another non-league match-up this coming Friday, March 18. Games will be played at home, starting at 2 p.m.
