Dr. Jashon Banks Sr is an experienced educator and professional in the field of Criminal Justice. With a strong background criminal justice, community policing, legal studies, which is the current work he conducts with Washington State Patrol. Dr. Banks brings practical experience and a passion for teaching to the classroom.
In addition to his role as an adjunct assistant professor at Bellevue College, Dr. Banks has been actively involved in Riot Psychology research with Clifford Stott, Professor of Psychology at Keele University in the United Kingdom. Also, he is on the PEAR Team (DEI) with Washington State Patrol working with troopers and community to bridge the gaps with policing and safe community. He emphasizes a student-centered approach to learning, fostering critical thinking, and applying real-world scenarios to theoretical concepts.
Dr. Banks holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice – Law & Public Policy from Walden University, and he is committed to preparing students for successful careers in law enforcement, courts, corrections, and areas of forensics science. Outside of teaching, Dr. Banks enjoys weight training, hiking, and traveling to learn about the cultures and the world.
