Susan is our program Director who has been a disability advocate for over thirty years. She graduated from Gonzaga University as an Education major. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know the students in the program. Bjorn, Susan’s husband, is from Norway and a member of the Puget Sound Norwegian community. They often travel to Norway to visit family. Susan as well enjoys visiting her son Bryan, who resides in Orlando and is a powerful advocate for Child Protective Services and Elder Care through the Governor’s Office for the Advocacy Council of Florida. Susan enjoys a wide array of friends, gardening, and caring for her Seeing Eye dogs, Nelly & Inez.
Susan recently had an amazing Mother's Day article published on theDEFENDERSonline website entitled "You Shouldn't Have Any Children and Other Forms of Blindness".

Dimitri is our longest serving Disability Specialist. He has been here since 2002. He holds national certification (Certificate of Interpretation and Certificate of Transliteration) through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and has completed his B.A. in Leadership and Diversity Studies through Antioch University. He also worked as a nurse before becoming a sign language interpreter. He is now pursuing his masters in Organizational Development to continue his work in change management and disability advocacy. Dimitri is passionate about social justice and education and loves helping to remove barriers to students reaching their goals.

Anne is our assistive technology specialist and enjoys working with students regarding their use of technology and alternative media.
Colin Donovan, Disability Specialist

Colin is the newest staff member at the Disability Resource Center, and he is truly delighted about it. He is a 2007 graduate of The Evergreen State College, where he focused on Disability Studies and community organizing. Colin is a passionate advocate for folks with disabilities, and has spent the last fifteen years organizing around various identity, cultural, and social justice issues across the U.S. and Canada. He reads voraciously, adores houseplants, and deeply appreciates a good sense of humor.

Amy has worked at Bellevue College for a decade and specializes in academic enrollment, assessment accommodating, test proctoring, and initiating disability services. She enjoys reading, spending time with family, and walking with her dog.
