Employer and Community Partnership Opportunities

Employment Services

Bellevue College’s WorkFirst programs have been strengthened by the partnership of community businesses and non-profit agencies with their participation in interview events, job fairs, employer panels, and internships. The investment and support of the business community have enhanced the WorkFirst program’s goal to provide students with customized job skills training and job search assistance, including, internships, one-on-one placement assistance and many employer events.

Internship Program

As students develop skills in the classroom, the internship allows them to apply the skills in a professional work setting. Once a student is placed in an internship, the employer is responsible for supervising and on the job training. Students work up to 19 hours a week. Students participating in the internship are paid an hourly rate by BC WorkFirst. Students have held internships at PacLab, City of Bellevue, Almond & Associates, Habitat for Humanity, Bellevue School District Elementary schools, Starlight Foundation, Compass Center and many other locations.
