New Program Manager in the Office of Sustainability!

The Office of Sustainability is excited to announce the addition of a new program manager to our team! The position opened up as Patrick Green transitioned into Deric Gruen’s Sustainability Director position. With Green moving up to the director seat, the program manager seat was empty for most of the year. After a rigorous interviewing process, the Office of Sustainability is proud to welcome Amber Nicholson to our team!
Amber works closely with the Sustainability Director on analyzing data, designing new projects, and engaging the college community. Amber brings experience in electronics and food manufacturing, as well as provincial and municipal government. Her goal is to use those experiences to improve upon sustainability metrics and participation in sustainability programs across campus. In her free time, you can find Amber exploring the United States, scuba diving, collecting vinyl records, and trying out new recipes.
“I’m passionate about encouraging others to lead increasingly sustainable lifestyles, from taking alternative transportation to shopping at local markets”, says Amber “There are so many great programs already in place that make our campus a community leader. I’m looking forward to connecting with students, faculty, and staff and hearing new ideas to incorporate into our campus programs”, she added.
Amber can be contacted at amber.nicholson@bellevuecollege.edu or in the K building. Feel free to bring any ideas or questions you may have, she is more than happy to answer them!
