Program Description
Model United Nations is a program that simulates activities of the United Nations and other international organizations. When you participate, you develop a better understanding of international relations, the politics of other nations, and how the United Nations conducts its work. In addition, you’ll examine a variety of issues such as peacekeeping, disarmament, economic development,
environmental policy, and human rights, and consider the impact of political, economic, historical, social and cultural factors on foreign policy and international diplomacy. Those wishing to participate in Model United Nations must enroll in Political Science 121 (Fall Quarter, 2 credits), Political
Science 122 (Winter Quarter, 3 credits), and Political Science 123 (Spring Quarter, 5 credits). Contact Tim Jones at (425) 564-2010.
