The commencement ceremony at Bellevue Community College is a time honored and formal occasion which recognizes the success and accomplishments of our graduating students. All students who have completed their certificate or degree requirements in the current academic year are welcome to participate in this event.

Traditionally, the ceremony is held on the last day of Spring quarter each year; however, we recommend you check our Events Calendar for the exact date, time and location.

Students eligible to participate in commencement are notified by mail with the following information:

Ordering Announcements
Announcements are ordered and purchased through the BCC Bookstore.

Caps & Gowns
In keeping with tradition, all graduates participating in the ceremony are required to wear caps and gowns. Caps, gowns, admissions tickets and announcements are picked up in the BCC Bookstore a month prior to the ceremony.

Honor Cords
If you are eligible and wish to wear an honor cord, you may purchase one when you pick up your cap and gown.

Tickets
Each year, the Student Programs office will establish the number of tickets each graduate will receive to the ceremony.

Reception
An open reception for graduates and guests traditionally takes place in the Student Union Cafeteria immediately after the event.
