Degree Programs

BCC offers a number of high-tech professional/technical degree programs that lead to exciting careers. These programs require students to complete 18 5-credit courses and lead to an Associate of Arts degree. Degree programs can be completed in 6 quarters (approximately 2 years) for full time students taking 3 courses per quarter. Many students with family, job or other commitments opt to take only 1 or 2 courses per quarter.

In addition to high quality technical education, degree programs provide students with the “soft” skills demanded by today’s employers.

Courses are offered on-campus during the day and during the evening to accommodate working professionals. Courses are also offered on-line to increase accessibility.

Course fees are the most reasonable in the educational community and tuition assistance and financial aid are available.

Information Systems Degree

The Information Systems Degree is designed to educate software professionals for today’s careers and to provide maximum flexibility for students entering the field. Within the degree, students may choose to specialize in 1 of 3 areas: Software Development, Business Intelligence or Database Administration. Additionally, students may choose electives to further their career interests.

Software Development Track – Information Systems Degree Bellevue Community College offers a comprehensive program in Software Development in which the student learns core object oriented programming skills while developing strong database skills. Courses are taught in state-of-the-art computer classrooms using the latest Microsoft's .NET technologies. Students can choose to focus on Web Development, C++ Programming, Windows Programming, or Database Development. The program includes study in the following areas:

Tiered Application Architecture Students interested in technical writing or software testing can gain the skills they need in this track. Business Intelligence Track – Information Systems Degree Bellevue Community College offers a comprehensive program in Business Intelligence in which the student learns advanced techniques for managing and analyzing data. Students gain understanding of how data management technology can be applied to solve business problems creating continuous improvements cycles at all levels of an organization. The program includes study in the following areas:

Database Administration Track – Information Systems Degree BCC offers a strong program in Database Administration where students learn to create, manage, tune and secure relational databases. Students gain a strong foundation in the SQL language and learn core principles of database administration. Students work with the latest versions of Microsoft SQL Server and have plenty of hands-on practice working with a variety of databases.

Technical Support Degree

The objective of the Technical Support program is to prepare competent Technical Support personnel that meet or exceed industry-wide competencies. Following successful completion of the program, students will have developed a diverse set of technical and general education skills allowing them to tackle a rainbow of jobs from telephone help desk to computer repair and desktop support. The program covers the competencies of specific industry certifications including: A+, Net+, Linux+ and MCSA. The Technical Support program is also a foundational program that allows students to easily go on to reach other goals in IT such as Networking and Security. The built-in student internship allows students to learn and grow in a work-like environment that stresses teamwork, creativity, quality of work, decision-making, customer service and seeing the “big picture”.

Network Services & Computing Systems Degree

The objective of the Networking Services program is to prepare competent Network Support personnel that meet or exceed industry-wide competencies. Following successful completion of the program, students will have developed a diverse set of technical and general education skills allowing them to tackle the challenges of networking local area networks (LANs) and wide are networks (WANs). A Network Services degree prepares graduates to connect computers and other resources in a network, perform network maintenance tasks, and install and configure hardware and software in microcomputers. The program covers the competencies of specific industry certification including: CCNA, MCSA and A+.
