AAUW is a national organization whose mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.

Applicants must reside within the boundaries of the Northshore or Lake Washington school districts.

Criteria for selection include the following:  post-high school woman, whose education has been interrupted, and who has returned to school in a two- or four-year college degree program at Bellevue College, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (Lake Washington Technical College) , University of Washington – Bothell, or Cascadia Community College.

Primary emphasis will be placed on:  A.  Financial Need, B.  Field of Study and career goals consistent with the mission of AAUW, and C.  Leadership potential and likelihood of being successful with educational program.

Primary emphasis will be placed on financial need and the relationship of the individual’s goals to AAUW goals.
