Robyn Bell-Bangerter, Senior Graphic Designer, received her BS in Visual Communications from Western Washington University with concentrations in Graphic Design and Video Production. “My education was centered on the technical side of printing as well as design,” says Robyn, “I understand how printing works and how to best design to print most effectively and efficiently.” She has 22 years of design experience, first working for a full-service agency, then as Art Department Director for a graphic design company where she worked for 13 years. Some of her clients have included Viacom Cable, Western Marine (Wesmar), and Cranium, Inc. Since coming to BC nearly eight years ago, she has been a frequent winner of NCMPR Medallion marketing awards.
Linda Walker, Graphic Design & Production, has 17 years of graphic design experience. Linda graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration with a minor in Marketing. “I have a painter’s mentality,” she says, “so I really like using color and incorporating textures.” Her artistic side is balanced by her training in marketing. “I’m always mindful of the ‘call to action’ and serving the target audience.” She is also adjunct faculty in BC’s Business Technology program. She says, “Being a teacher on the side keeps me searching for trends and ideas – staying fresh.” Her prior work included agency and in-house art department positions as well as five years in web printing prepress.
Dianne Harbolt, coordinator for BC’s Graphics & Printing department for over twelve years, is a valued member of the Creative Services team. She provides production oversight to all projects, from cost estimates and creating timelines to selecting the right outside vendor, if needed. Her 32 years of experience in the industry has built her skills that include working up marketing plans, particularly budget-based strategies and coordinating with designers to assure projects come in on time and within budget. Dianne specializes in customer relations and project management. “I have full working knowledge of the graphics and printing industry, including design, color theory, offset and digital printing processes, and finishing,” says Dianne. “Over the years I have cultivated many successful working relationships with outside print vendors that yield great service and pricing for jobs that are appropriate to outsource.”
Sharon Berg has been Publications & Communications Manager at BC for six years, following a lengthy career in the newspaper industry in news, advertising, and marketing departments. For 17 years, she worked for The Seattle Times in Corporate Marketing. She was consultant to the advertising department and worked with advertising agencies and retailers to provide research and recommend media strategies, including media buying and market and site analysis. She created award-winning print collateral and presentations, often presenting to major clients, including Nordstrom, the Bon Marche, and Fred Meyer. Her background also includes Advertising Account Executive for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Account Manager for Adco Associates, and Advertising & Promotion director for retail chain stores’ Kmart and People’s.
