Employee Pluralism Committee

Purpose:

The Employee Pluralism Committee is one of four college committees focused on diversity.  The Employee Pluralism Committee is a problem solving group which advises the Vice President of Human Resources and the Vice President of Equity & Pluralism regarding diversity issues, concerns, and suggestions which could impact employees.  The committee assists in the development of work plans supporting recruitment, retention, and development of employees from diverse populations; reviews progress on work plans, and recommends modifications; reviews the Affirmative Action Plan; assists in the development of leadership and development plans for employees from diverse populations; and supports community building within the college community.

Membership:

  • Three (3) administrators, including the VP of Human Resources
  • Three (3) faculty
  • Three (3) classified staff

To ensure broad participation and appropriate expertise, additional members may be added by the Pluralism Steering Committee in consultation with President’s Staff.

Tasks:

Provide advice and counsel to the VP of Human Resources and the VP for Diversity regarding diversity issues which may impact employees. Assist in the development of a work plan for recruitment, retention and development of employees from diverse populations. Review progress on work plans and recommend modifications. Review the college Affirmative Action Plan. Assist in the development of employee leadership and mentoring programs for employees from diverse populations. Support community building within the college community.
