Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest, will be presented by Bellevue Community College drama students on five days beginning March 7.

The production runs March 7-8 and 13-15, with all performances beginning at 8 p.m. in Bellevue Community College’s Carlson Theatre (Building E on the south courtyard of BCC’s main campus, 3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.).

The Importance of Being Earnest concerns two friends who each pretend to be the imaginary “Earnest” in order to behave in ways contrary to their reputations. Add their love interests, a controlling mother, a missing baby and the country air and you have a witty look at the rules of upper class England as seen by an Irish writer.

The production is directed by Seattle-based, professional actor/director Dan Kremer.
